I sat in the back of the car and scribbled on Jess' index cards while her brother drove us home from New Jersey.

Tonight I sat down to work on a Her! guest strip (Chris put out an open invitation for birthday guest strips). I'm happy when I have time to scribble in my sketchpad, play my guitar or pursue my other artistic interests but I usually just frustate myself in the end. I never really improve because I don't practice enough.

I didn't get very far with my strip. Since most of the past guest strips are similar to Chris' in style, I thought that it would be fun to come up with my own way of drawing Girl and Pig. I ended up with some crumpled up pages, a Girl, a poorly drawn Pig, and a demented spaceman. Sigh. I also had a few ideas for 3-panel jokes but they are so unfunny that I'm ashamed to share them here.

In other news, I just found out that Mike Watt and the Secondmen are going on a big ass tour. Mike and his boom stick are going to be at TT's in Cambridge on October 27th (and John, he's a comin' to Baltimore on Halloween Eve). Perc perc percolator.
