  • Words that I love to hear when they are said with a thick Boston accent: "Martha", "heart".
  • 3 cool word sites: Wordie, Online Etymology Dictionary, OneLook search.
  • What do you read, my lord? Words
  • I'm the lyrical gangsta (word'em up)
The first point was all I really wanted to say. The rest is fluff because you can't write a one line blog post.

One day she had to call her mom at work; coincidentally, her mom's name is Martha. The conversation went something like this: Friend: "Hello, is Martha there?" Coworker: "Who?" F: "Martha" C: "Um, I'm sorry...?" F: "Martha!" C: "...Mar...Marta?" F: (sighing resignedly) "MAAHtha" C: "Oh, Martha! Ok just a sec, I'll get her." excerpt: blog_name: ip: 125.3.42.41 ----- name: Mandy <>

You need to get the Urban Dictionary (http://www.urbandictionary.com/). It is very good with the new slang and most standard words. You'll spend too much time clicking and checking out different words.

My college roommate grew up in Duxbury, Massachusetts. One Christmas break she came back and told me the story of the wedding she went to with a very BOSTON cover band who played "Calendar Girls" by the Beach Boys..."Yeahhss, Yeahhss, ma haht's in a whool, I luv, I luv, I luv, my calendah ghe-wul" Course, being from So. Cal, in the 1980s, I was doing alot of "Gag me with a spoon" myself, so I can't really talk much!!!
